Evanston
The city of Evanston is one of the largest and most diverse suburbs of Chicago. It is college town with Northwestern University in the North East; a family friendly city with outstanding schools, parks, and family activities; and a business center with a bustling downtown, and great shops and restaurants throughout.
Evanston is ideally located just north of Chicago and adjacent to Lake Michigan. It boasts several miles of Lake Michigan frontage along which are parks, a bike trail, Northwestern University and a light house.
Schools
Evanston has great schools that attract young families to it. Grade schools in District 65 are Dawes, Dewey, Kingsley, Lincoln, Lincolnwood, Oakton, Orrington, Walker, Washington and Willard. Middle schools are Chute, Haven and Nichols. Evanston schools are perennially ranked among the best in the Chicago metropolitan area.
Evanston Township High School is nationally ranked among the top 2% of high schools in the nation. 94% of its teachers have advanced degrees and it’s graduation rate is over 85%.
Park District
Evanston’s park district is second to none and boast dozens of wonderful and unique parks dotted throughout it. Included among them are the following exceptional parks: Lighthouse Landing Park which has the beautiful lakefront and the Evanston Art Center; Lovelace Park which has a duck pond and tennis courts; and Merrick Rose Garden which has a stunning display of roses and a historic fountain.
